HUGO BOSS has introduced NovaPoly, a groundbreaking recycled polyester yarn designed to reduce the environmental impact of fashion, particularly addressing the growing concern of microplastic pollution. Created in collaboration with Jiaren Chemical Recycling and NBC LLC, NovaPoly is made from textile waste sourced from both clothing production and post-consumer use. A key innovation in the material is a natural additive that mimics organic fibers, allowing the yarn to break down more easily in the environment.
“This innovation is a critical step in our efforts to fight microplastics and aligns with our broader sustainability goals,” said a HUGO BOSS spokesperson. NovaPoly is central to the company’s BOSS THE CHANGE initiative, furthering its commitment to circular fashion and sustainable material innovation.
For the first year, HUGO BOSS holds the exclusive rights to NovaPoly, but future plans include licensing the yarn industry-wide, positioning the company as a leader in sustainable fashion innovation. The goal is to make the material accessible to a broader range of fashion brands and manufacturers.
The first commercial collection featuring NovaPoly will debut in the Spring/Summer 2026 BOSS Green collection, which will be launched globally in October 2025. Products using the new material will be available in BOSS stores, online, and through selected wholesale partners.
Building on previous partnerships, including one with HeiQ AeoniQ on alternative polyamide fibers, HUGO BOSS continues to push the boundaries of material science to create fashion that meets the highest sustainability standards. The move underscores the company’s dedication to reducing the fashion industry’s environmental footprint while leading the way in the next generation of sustainable fibers.
