Capgemini Strengthens ESG Commitments with New Targets for Net Zero, Diversity, and Digital Inclusion

Capgemini has announced an enhanced Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) policy, emphasizing its long-term dedication to responsible growth, sustainability, and ethical leadership. The updated policy, which introduces nine key priorities and 14 measurable objectives, builds on the company’s 2021 ESG strategy and reinforces its role in advancing the global shift toward a sustainable economy.

Key Achievements and Future Goals

As of the end of 2024, Capgemini has made significant progress in several key areas:

Carbon Reductions:

  • Achieved a 93% reduction in Scope 1 & 2 emissions.
  • Reduced business travel emissions (Scope 3) by 62% per employee, exceeding its 2030 target.
  • 98% of the company’s electricity use comes from renewable sources, with plans to reach 100% by 2025.

Diversity and Inclusion:

  • Women now represent 39.7% of Capgemini’s global workforce, on track to meet its 40% goal by 2025.
  • The percentage of women in executive leadership roles has risen to 29%, up from 17% in 2019, with a target of 35% by 2030.

Talent Development:

  • Capgemini employees averaged 77 hours of learning annually, significantly surpassing the company’s 5% annual increase target.

Cybersecurity Excellence:

  • Capgemini’s leadership in data protection and infrastructure security has been validated by external agencies such as Bitsight, RiskRecon, and Cybervadis.

Looking Ahead: New Targets for 2030

Capgemini is setting ambitious new goals to drive even greater impact in the coming years:

Net Zero by 2040:
The company is committed to reducing its absolute emissions by 90% by 2040, with plans to invest in high-quality carbon credits to support this goal.

Ethical AI Practices:
Capgemini is expanding company-wide training and awareness programs on responsible AI development and deployment to ensure ethical practices across all operations.

Digital Inclusion Expansion:
By 2030, Capgemini aims to positively impact 10 million underserved individuals through its digital inclusion initiatives, now focusing on measuring depth of impact using the B4SI framework, starting in 2025.
