Blue Yonder Acquires Pledge to Enhance Carbon Emissions Reporting in Supply Chains

Blue Yonder has acquired Pledge Earth Technologies, a UK-based climate tech firm, to integrate ISO-aligned and GLEC-conformant carbon emissions tracking into its supply chain platform. This acquisition enhances Blue Yonder’s ability to provide enterprise customers with precise, automated Scope 3 emissions reporting across transportation networks, enabling improved sustainability and regulatory compliance.

Pledge, founded in 2021, developed a cloud-based system that automates the collection of shipment data from logistics partners, facilitating accurate emissions calculations for various transport modes, including air, inland, and sea. With this integration, Blue Yonder’s customers can now seamlessly monitor emissions throughout their supply chain, closing a crucial data gap in emissions reporting.

“We’re excited to combine forces with Blue Yonder to extend the reach of our technology, giving global enterprises the tools they need to measure, report, and reduce carbon emissions,” said David de Picciotto, CEO and co-founder of Pledge.

The addition of Pledge’s solution brings new capabilities to Blue Yonder’s platform, aligning with the ISO 14083standard and GLEC framework. This will allow businesses to track emissions not only within their own operations but across their entire network of logistics providers, helping them meet growing global reporting requirements, such as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD)Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi), and CDPdisclosures.

“Accurate, real-time emissions tracking is a game changer for our customers,” said Saskia van Gendt, Chief Sustainability Officer at Blue Yonder. “It’s not just about data, but what you can do with it—cutting costs, improving sustainability, and identifying inefficiencies in operations.”

The integration allows companies to optimize their logistics operations, reduce fuel consumption, and minimize carbon emissions, all while enhancing transparency and audit readiness. This acquisition strengthens Blue Yonder’s commitment to helping its clients achieve their sustainability goals, ensuring they are better prepared for increasingly complex global regulatory environments.

In addition to helping enterprises achieve their ESG objectives, the move supports better decision-making in logistics and transportation, which can ultimately lead to cost savings, improved operational efficiency, and stronger accountability for environmental impact. As Bjoern Stengel, Global Sustainability Research Lead at IDC put it, “Blue Yonder’s strategic acquisition of Pledge’s capabilities will help propel its customers toward smarter, more impactful sustainability management.”
