Dublin Named Global Hub for Sustainable Finance with €7.5M UNDP Project Office

Ireland has partnered with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to establish a new global Project Office for Sustainable Finance in Dublin, supported by a €7.5 million investment from the Irish Government over the 2025–2027 period.

Unveiled during the World Bank/IMF Spring Meetings in Washington, D.C., the Dublin-based office will serve as a key delivery platform for the UNDP’s Sustainable Finance Hub. Its mission is to help align public and private financial flows with climate, nature, and sustainable development goals, offering practical tools and policy guidance to more than 40 countries.

This marks the UNDP’s first permanent presence in Ireland and will house the secretariats of two major initiatives: the Financial Centres for Sustainability (FC4S) and the Sustainable Insurance Forum (SIF).

“This new UNDP Project Office reflects Ireland’s ambition to be at the heart of shaping global sustainable finance,” said Paschal Donohoe, T.D., Ireland’s Minister for Finance.

With its strategic location and growing financial expertise, Dublin is set to play a central role in advancing global efforts to mobilize finance for sustainable and inclusive growth.
